ian mcpherson

Director/head instructor

Ian has a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and a Master’s in Sports Management from Johan Cruyff Institute in Barcelona, Spain.  He is a former college tennis player and a certified USPTA Tennis Teaching pro.  Ian transitioned to the sport of Pickleball in November 2017 and fell in love with it immediately.  He competes regularly at the 5.0 and Senior Pro levels in Men’s & Mixed doubles.  His objective as Director of the program at Impact Sports is to build a community of Pickleballers, with all skill levels welcome.  He is dedicated to supporting and encouraging the goals of each individual, whether it is to be a competitive player or simply to improve their skills for personal enjoyment.  Beyond the court, Ian enjoys skiing, hiking, cycling, traveling and reading.




Will is an enthusiastic, energetic individual and lifelong athlete, having excelled in ice hockey, baseball, basketball, and Pickleball.  His proficiencies and interests are both diverse and wide ranging.  An avid outdoor enthusiast, he enjoys skiing, running, cycling, wake surfing, camping and hiking.  With a love of food and wine pairing, he’s a passionate cook and enjoys the challenge of providing true gastronomic experiences for friends and family, including his four daughters.   In his spare time, he writes song lyrics, boards and cares for dogs, and volunteers as an athletic coach and instructor for intellectually and developmentally challenged young adults.
